The obituary notice of Jennifer ('Jayne') LEWIS

Jayne (always Mrs Lewis to me) was my teacher at Victoria Infant School—a kind and gentle presence in my earliest school days. I still remember sitting cross-legged on the itchy classroom carpet, completely captivated as she read to us from the biggest book I had ever seen. She was always there whenever you needed a hug—one of those rare people who made you feel safe just by being near.

Beyond the classroom, Jayne remained a cherished friend to my mum, Heather, and part of the wider circle of warmth that made our school years so special.

Sending love and strength to all of her family. She touched many lives with her kindness and will be dearly missed.
